Overview
TZ5 and TZ-2 are the store’s names for a dual GIP and GLP-1 receptor agonist: one molecule that acts on two gut-hormone receptors involved in appetite and blood sugar.
How it works
By activating both the GIP and GLP-1 receptors it increases insulin release when glucose is high, slows stomach emptying and reduces appetite. A fatty side chain gives it a half-life of about five days.
Chemistry
From PubChem, the US National Library of Medicine’s chemistry database.
Clinical reference
The approved medicine in this class starts at 2.5 mg once a week for four weeks, then 5 mg, increasing by 2.5 mg every four weeks as needed up to 15 mg a week.
Label and guideline amounts are shown for reference only. They are not a recommendation, and we never give cycle or performance amounts. Any use belongs under a doctor’s care, with bloodwork.

Injection sites
TZ-2 10mg is a freeze-dried powder. After mixing with bacteriostatic water, compounds like this are usually injected subcutaneously (subQ): into the fat just under the skin with a short insulin needle.
- Volume per site
- About 1 ml or less
- Needle
- 4 to 13 mm insulin needle, 29 to 31G
Finding it. Anywhere on the belly at least 5 cm from the navel, avoiding scars and the belt line. Pinch a fold of skin and inject into it.
Why it is used. The most-used subcutaneous site: easy to see, plenty of fat and steady absorption. Weekly GLP-1 pens list it first.
Watch out. Move each injection 2 to 3 cm from the last to avoid hard lumps.
- Volume per site
- About 1 ml or less
- Needle
- 4 to 13 mm insulin needle, 29 to 31G
Finding it. The middle of the front of the thigh, a hand-width below the hip and a hand-width above the knee.
Why it is used. Easy to reach seated and a good second site to rotate with the belly.
Watch out. Absorption can be a little slower than the belly.
- Volume per site
- About 1 ml or less
- Needle
- 4 to 13 mm insulin needle, 29 to 31G
Finding it. The fleshy back of the upper arm, halfway between shoulder and elbow.
Why it is used. A third site to rotate through so each spot rests longer.
Watch out. Hard to pinch and reach on yourself; a helper makes it easier.
Why these sites for TZ-2 10mg
Subcutaneous (subQ)- Belly first. The abdomen has the most fat and the steadiest absorption, and you can see what you are doing.
- Short needle, small volume. About 1 ml or less per spot with an insulin syringe. Pinch the skin if you are lean.
- Move every time. Keep each injection 2 to 3 cm from the last to avoid lumps.
Every time: wash your hands, wipe the vial stopper and skin with alcohol, use a new sterile needle and syringe, and never share. See a doctor for spreading redness, heat, swelling, pus, fever or numbness. This is general guidance from standard nursing practice, not medical advice; a pharmacist or nurse can show you in person.
