Overview

Winstrol is stanozolol, a DHT-derived steroid that was prescribed for hereditary angioedema, a condition that causes sudden swelling.

How it works

Stanozolol activates androgen receptors, does not convert to estradiol and lowers SHBG, which frees up more of the body’s active hormones. Its 17-alpha alkylation lets it survive oral use but strains the liver.

Clinical reference

The angioedema label started at 2 mg three times a day, then reduced to the lowest amount that prevented attacks, often 2 mg a day or every other day.
