What Are Oral Anabolic Steroids?
Oral anabolic steroids are drugs that are designed to replicate the effects of testosterone, the most active of all naturally occurring anabolic steroids. These drugs are taken orally. Also called anabolic-androgenic steroids (abbreviated as AAS) or anabolic steroids (abbreviated as AS). They are the most widely used drugs in the world, and are used both legitimately and illegally for therapeutic purposes.
Thus far, oral anabolic steroids have only been used to promote growth in humans; they are mostly used by bodybuilders and athletes. The use of these drugs for this purpose is prohibited in most countries.
How Do Oral Anabolic Steroids Work?
When an oral anabolic steroid is taken, it is absorbed into the bloodstream. From there, they are transported into the liver, where they are broken down into various metabolites.
Some of the metabolites are then secreted into the intestines, where they are excreted through the feces. The rest of the metabolites are secreted into the bloodstream, where they are transported to the site of action, i.e., muscle cells. They are transported to the muscle cells by binding to the androgen receptor.
Once they bind to the receptor, they will stimulate the cells to begin producing proteins, which will lead to the growth of the cells. The more protein a cell has, the bigger it will be. Over time, this will lead to a larger muscle mass.
The Effects of Oral Anabolic Steroids
Once a person starts taking oral anabolic steroids, he or she will start to notice a lot of changes in his or her body. The first thing that will happen is that his or her muscles will start to grow. In fact, they will grow at a much higher rate then they would if the person was not taking any steroids.
In addition, he or she will also notice that he or she will have a lot more energy. This is a common side effect of taking steroids, and it is typically the first thing a person notices.
